Forming the shape
Decorative ceramics can be shaped by casting, pressing, hand building or throwing on a wheel. Each method suits different shapes and production needs. The method for an individual product should be confirmed from its specific information.
Drying and firing
Clay needs controlled drying before firing. Firing changes the material, while the clay body and firing conditions influence the final result. Ceramic is a broad description and does not by itself guarantee a particular level of strength or water resistance.
Adding the surface
Glazes, stains and other finishes create different colours and textures. Small variations can occur. A matte surface and a glossy surface may need different care, so use the instructions for the actual item.
Use it as intended
A decorative vase is not automatically suitable for drinking water, food, a dishwasher or an open flame. If you want to display fresh flowers, check that the vessel is intended to hold water and protect the furniture beneath it.
